A drive in a cement plant, a crusher house, or an open desert pumping station rarely fails on the day of the storm. It fails months later, and the failure report says something vague: overheating, nuisance trip, board failure.
Work backwards from that and you usually find a chain rather than a cause.
Consider how it can run. The filter loads up. Airflow drops. The heatsink runs hotter, so the drive derates or trips on temperature. To keep production going, the door gets opened. Now the dust the filter was catching reaches the control boards directly, and in humid air it can form a conductive film. Months later, a board fails and the drive gets blamed.
How closely that matches your site depends on your site. What does not vary is where the chain starts. Every link in it follows from having a filter in the air path in the first place.

The AT24 UB HP removes that first link. The power components have a dedicated cooling channel, and the sensitive electronics sit in a fully welded, sealed compartment, isolated from environmental exposure.
The enclosure is IP55, the fans are IP55-rated with sealed connections, the doors seal on precision gaskets with sealed cable glands, and the boards carry protective conformal coating on top of that.
Which means there are no air filters at all. Nothing to inspect, nothing to clean, nothing to replace, and no failure mode where a clogged filter takes down the drive.
The second recurring task is quieter and more expensive. Standard electrolytic capacitors are a wear item, generally replaced around the five-year mark.
The AT24 UB HP uses polypropylene capacitors exclusively, rated to run for the full product lifecycle, and they need no reforming after long storage or an extended shutdown.
For a spare unit sitting in a warehouse on a remote site, that last point matters more than it sounds.

Traditionally, putting a drive outside means adding to it: a protective enclosure, a shelter, derating, remote mounting, longer cable runs, or separate indoor and outdoor configurations.
The AT24 UB HP is specified for indoor or outdoor placement as it is.
It runs from -10 to +40°C with no derating, and up to +50°C with derating.
A sealed cabinet is only an advantage if nobody has to open it.
The AT24 UB HP is configured either from the front control panel or over built-in Wi-Fi: connect in under 10 seconds, then work through a guided setup wizard.
The control panel can also be mounted separately, up to 10 metres away, so the operator interface can live somewhere convenient while the drive sits where the motor is.
