Every square meter matters on an offshore platform. Yet the electrical system behind an ESP may require a step-down transformer, variable speed drive, step-up transformer, protection equipment, cooling, and monitoring.
Fitting these components into a limited area is not simply a matter of making each one smaller. They must operate safely and reliably as one complete power train.
A conventional project may source transformers, drives, and supporting equipment from different manufacturers. This adds interfaces, engineering work, installation time, and potential compatibility problems.
E-Cabinet integrates the step-down transformer, AK06 oil production variable speed drive, and step-up transformer into one system.
Its two-level modular design reduces the required platform area to as little as 6.5 m² while keeping the necessary equipment accessible for operation and maintenance.
Because the main components are engineered and supported as one package, the complete system can be configured around the ESP, available platform space, and project requirements.
A compact system must still withstand the conditions surrounding it.
E-Cabinet NEMA 4X uses an IP66 enclosure manufactured from AISI 316L stainless steel with a double-layer polymer coating. It is designed for offshore conditions that include high humidity, salt fog, and severe weather.
The system also includes transformer temperature monitoring, fire warning equipment, arc sensors, and smoke detection. A UPS can keep the controller and critical monitoring systems active for up to six hours if the external power supply is lost.
These functions protect more than the individual components. They support safer operation, earlier detection of developing problems, and more reliable control of the complete system.
Offshore integration is not only about what fits inside the cabinet. It is also about reducing the work required once the equipment reaches the platform.
Combining the main power components into one modular system simplifies mounting, connection, commissioning, and technical support.
The result is a complete power train designed around three offshore realities: limited space, demanding environmental conditions, and restricted access for installation and maintenance.
